Plan your project

A better brief.
A better starting point.

You do not need construction terminology to get started. A few useful details help explain the work and the result you want.

01 / Your priorities

Describe the change you want.

Explain what is worn, damaged, unfinished, or no longer working for you. Separate necessary repairs from improvements you would like to explore. For a room refresh, list walls, ceilings, trim, flooring, and fixtures individually.

02 / Existing conditions

Give the project some context.

Include the location, approximate size if known, existing materials, and any previous repairs. For roof or exterior work, describe the affected part of the house. For restoration, explain when the issue appeared and whether its source has been addressed.

03 / Life around the project

Share access and timing needs.

Tell us whether the property will be occupied, whether work areas contain furniture, and if there are access restrictions. Mention your preferred timeframe, especially if the work connects to another planned improvement.

04 / A useful example

“We want to refresh our living room.”

“The walls need painting, two drywall areas need repair, and we would like the baseboards refinished. The house is occupied. We are also considering new flooring and would like to discuss doing the work together.”

This gives the conversation a room, a scope, and a priority without needing exact measurements or final material choices.
